Brief Characterization Of Industrial Use Conveyors

| vertical conveyors

Because they are used industriously, they have the ability to lift as much as five hundred pounds in weight. This article, a short one, briefly characterizes industrial use vertical conveyors, taking the pneumatic vertical conveyor as an example. The pneumatically activated vertical conveyor, or VRC, uses a pneumatic cable cylinder to raise and lower the conveyor between different levels. High end conveyors have the ability to move as quickly as one hundred and fifty feet per minute (FPM).

Top and bottom shock absorbers are installed to the conveyors. These allow the user to safely transfer products and materials from one level to the next. Owing to its cantilever design, conveyors’ product movement configurations will operate at Z flow, C flow and at right angle flows. Users also have the option to carry a combination of all three of these flows. New customers also have the option to purchase chain operated live roller conveyors. These are ideal for carrying and transferring heavier than average loads.

But multi-poly belt type conveyors target lighter operating loads. Different speeds can be selected. These will run from as little as 30 FPM to as much as 90 FPM. Vertical conveyors prepared for shipping to new customers are all prewired. Devices are tied to a terminal strip stored in a junction box. Future users will also have the option to select full PLC controls. All vertical conveyors need to meet or exceed industry standard ANSI B20.1 safety guidelines. As far as safety goes, the product features safety tunnels, safety placards and fully guarded or protected frames. It also has product sensing ‘photo-eyes’ and a CAM activated free-fall braking system.

Finally, electric powered conveyors have the ability to generate speeds of up to 300 FPM, having started from a low of 30.
